Hearing set for Dayton teen facing murder charges in Miami Twp. hotel shooting
UPDATE @4 p.m., Oct. 30: Whether a 17-year-old will face adult charges on multiple murder counts in the late-night shooting of a Miami Twp. hotel worker outside the business near the Dayton Mall may not be decided until next year.
A Jan. 28 hearing is scheduled to see if the case against the Dayton male charged in the Sept. 13 shooting of Jayren Graham outside the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton will be transferred from Montgomery County Juvenile Court.
Judge Anthony Capizzi this week set the two-day probable cause hearing for the teen, who faces multiple charges, including four murder counts, records show.

Authorities said Graham, a 19-year-old Miami Twp. resident, was shot in the head about 11 p.m. outside the Prestige Place hotel where he worked.
INITIAL REPORT, Oct. 29:
A 17-year-old accused in the deadly, late-night shooting of a Miami Twp. hotel worker outside business near the Dayton Mall may learn more today why prosecutors want to try him as an adult.
Prosecutors are seeking four murder counts among multiple charges against the Dayton male for the Sept. 13 homicide of 19-year-old Jayren Graham, a Miami Twp. man, outside the DoubleTree Suites where the victim worked.
The defendant’s case is set to be the focus of a hearing before Montgomery County Juvenile Court Judge Anthony Capizzi today.

County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. said earlier this month he is seeking to transfer the defendant’s to adult court. The teen, who has a lengthy juvenile record dating back nearly three years, was charged with a single count of murder after he was arrested Sept. 14.
Miami Twp. police said Graham was shot in the head.
This news organization is not naming the 17-year-old until a judge transfers his case to adult court. Aside from the murder counts, the charges being sought by the prosecutor’s office include:
•Two counts of aggravated robbery;
•Two counts of felonious assault;
•Two counts of tampering with evidence;
•One count of carrying concealed weapons;
•One count of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
The counts of murder, aggravated robbery, and felonious assault include three‐year firearm specifications, according to the prosecutor’s office.
