At Union Pharmacy in Newton Centre, they're getting so many calls for the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, they're now offering walk-in clinics."People just say easy, get it done, and they're ready to move on with their lives and see their grandparents," said Dr. Xiaoyan Qin.One woman who drove two hours just so she could get the one-dose shot. "I feel safer just getting one shot. I don't feel comfortable with the MRNA technology. I don't know enough about it to feel safe about it," said Antoinette Brown.The pharmacy is bracing for a line out the door at their walk-in clinic."Overall people are not hesitant in getting the vaccines. They are very happy that we started providing this service, especially the walk-ins. They're so thankful," said Dr. Ripsime Guyumdzhyan, pharmacy manager. The state re-authorized the use of the vaccine Friday night not long after the pause was lifted by the CDC. Federal health leaders hope the process will increase confidence in the vaccine."The CDC and the FDA are the gold standard for both safety and the evaluation of efficacy.
