Types Of Hemophilia
Haemophilia is life-threatening rare inherited bleeding disorder. In this condition there is deficiency of coagulation factors in the body which is essential for blood to clot and prevent excess bleeding. It is an inherited X-linked genetic disorder and Haemophilia A and Haemophilia B are most common type. Haemophilia A & B are caused by defect in production of clotting factors VIII and IX respectively.
Family history of bleeding disorders accounts for 2/3rd of all cases of haemophilia and 1/3rd of the cases of haemophilia can be sporadic, arising due to spontaneous mutations in FVIII or FIX genes. The incidence and prevalence of haemophilia is low in the overall population. As per Annual Global Survey 2021, people diagnosed with haemophilia in India are 25,000 out of which approximately 21,000 suffer with Haemophilia A and 3,000 with Haemophilia B. Haemophilia affects males while females are carriers of the defective gene.
Clinical features of haemophilia are bleeding into joint spaces, muscle bleeds, nose bleeds, oral and mucosal bleeds, internal bleeding, uncontrolled bleeding after trauma, surgery. Bleeding into the joints is the most common manifestation, that may progress to haemophilic joint disease if not treated regularly. Haemophilia is currently managed by replacing deficient clotting factors with antihemophilic factors (AHF) which are manufactured commercially. Recombinant clotting factors are the mainstay in treatment of haemophilia in India. The AHF is given in two ways, most commonly to treat the bleeding episode (on demand therapy) or by giving it at regular intervals to prevent bleeding episodes and this is called therapy or by prophylaxis. Today in majority of developed nations prophylaxsis is the main stay of treatment for haemophilia patients. However, prophylaxsis is expensive and therefore in developing countries only a small percentage of patients get prophylaxsis therapy. Some important complications faced by patients are development of inhibitors against replaced factors, pseudo tumors, chronic pain, haematoma, restricted physical activities, psycho-social challenges.
Several state governments supported by NHM started providing anti-haemophilic factors at specific centers for free. The Hemophilia Federation of India (HFI) established in 1982, also provides factors free of cost to some extent and offers disease awareness, education, and psychosocial support. Collaborative efforts between haemophilia chapters, state & central governments, health authorities have resulted in significant advancements in haemophilia care lately.
World Haemophilia Day is marked on 17th April annually with an intention to raise awareness amongst government authorities and policymakers for the provision of improved care and to promote better treatment. This year with the theme "Access for All: Prevention of bleeds as the global standard of care" isan appeal to health authorities, policymakers to prioritize prevention, accessibility and effective treatment for all people with Haemophilia.

New Survey: 70% Say Presentation Skills Are Critical For Career Success
Seventy percent of employed Americans who give presentations agree that presentation skills are critical to their success at work, according to a new Prezi survey. My first reaction? The other 30% don't know it yet.
Prezi, the cloud-based presentation platform company, collaborated with Harris to survey employed professionals about their attitudes on presentations. Prezi also asked me to review the survey results. The findings reflect just how important presentations skills are to one's career, and also reveal the extreme measures people take to get out of giving a presentation. , even if it means "losing respect" in the workplace.
The fear of presenting is very real among professionals in corporate America today, so much so that that many people are desperate to avoid it. It's a problem because the survey also reveals that telling a clear and persuasive story through presentations is a fundamental job requirement and a necessary component of career success. Poor presentation skills mean that leaders fail to inspire their teams, products fail to sell, entrepreneurs fail to attract funding, and careers fail to soar. That seems like a big price to pay for neglecting such a basic skill that anyone can improve upon.
There is hope for anyone who wants to improve at this critical career skill and, according to the Prezi survey, plenty of people want help. and to 'captivate the audience.' One way to improve presentation skills is simply to watch great presentations. Thanks to sites like TED.Com, anyone with an Internet connection and a computer or mobile device can watch the world's most awe-inspiring presentations delivered in 18-minutes.
Recently I spoke to author and investigative reporter David Epstein who delivered this TED talk in March that has been viewed more than 1.7 million times. On the 18-minute time limit that all TED talks are required to follow he said, "It forced me to be really sharp with my transitions, and to pick examples that I could explain really succinctly, even if they were not the simplest ideas in the world. With that amount of time, you know you can only make so many points, so you're forced to make them count." Epstein's TED experience also taught him the importance of delivering a visually engaging presentation that adds to the narrative, and doesn't simply mirror the speaker's words. "The slides should supplement the talk, not give it. The speaker is the performer, and the slides are supporting actors."
Epstein's presentation is visually engaging and beautifully designed, a common element in many of the best TED presentations. If you want to improve your presentation skills, here are several other TED talks I would recommend that you watch.
"Why Schools Kill Creativity," by Sir Ken Robinson (Skillful use of humor and storytelling).
"My Stroke of Insight" by Dr. Jill Bolte-Taylor (Dr. Jill rehearsed this presentation 200 times before delivering it).
"We Need to Talk About an Injustice" by Bryan Stevenson (Stevenson tells three stories to support his theme, accounting for 65% of his content).
The fact is that traditional presentations are often boring. In the Prezi survey, 46% of respondents admit that they've been distracted during a co-worker's presentation. Instead of watching the presentation they often do the following tasks: send text messages, answer email, surf the Internet, check social media, or fall asleep. Creating and delivering a presentation that engages hearts and minds does take work and creativity, but with easy access to some of the best presentations on the planet there are plenty of examples to model.

Level Up Your Presentations With Cutting-Edge Immersive Technologies
By Vikas Agrawal, co-founder at Infobrandz, an elite team of visual communication experts taking content marketing to the next level.
gettyImmersive technologies create a sense of presence in a simulated environment or augment the real world with digital elements. They are being increasingly used to create immersive presentations for entertainment, education, training, communication and marketing. And that's not surprising. Immersive technologies can make presentations gripping and engaging while simplifying complex or abstract concepts manifold.
This is reflected by the global immersive technology market size, which was valued at USD 21.66 billion in 2021 and is expected to grow exponentially to hit an impressive USD 134.18 billion by 2030.
So what are immersive technologies, how do they work and how can you apply them to amplify the effectiveness of your presentations? As co-founder of a visual marketing agency, I'd like to share my top six immersive presentation technologies.
Augmented Reality (AR)Augmented reality overlays digital information or objects on top of the real world, enhancing the user's perception of reality. AR can be used for presentations that need to add context, detail or novelty to the physical environment. It is usually remotely accessible with just a mobile device, making it a hugely popular immersive presentation medium.
AR typically requires a mobile device with a camera, while some specialized applications may require specific AR glasses.
You can use AR to show the audience how a product works, how a building would look, how furniture would look in their home or how wearable accessories would appear on them, among other applications.
360-Degree Video360-degree video captures the entire scene from all angles, allowing the user to look around and choose their own perspective with the use of a headset or touchscreen. It creates a highly realistic and detailed experience by encompassing the entire environment.
This medium can be ideal for presentations that want to immerse the audience in a different location, culture or situation such as a travel destination, a real estate property or a personal story.
Interactive PresentationIn my experience, interactiveness is the key to engagement with your audience, and interactive presentations leverage this perfectly by including elements like hyperlinks and hotspots to create an engaging and personalizable interface. They also include audio, video, charts, surveys, navigation and transitions that are controllable by viewers.
Interactive videos require displays with touchscreens or other controllers like a mouse. They are usually also accessible on mobile devices, and this makes them convenient for remote presentations.
Interactive presentations can be used in various settings such as education, business marketing and healthcare to engage audiences, enhance learning and create personalized experiences.
Virtual Reality (VR)Virtual Reality creates a fully immersive experience that blocks out the physical surroundings and transports the user to a different reality. It typically involves 3-dimensional and 360-degree viewing technology as well as AR, 3-D audio, interactive elements, digital modeling and other regulators that control temperature and smell, among others.
VR presentations usually require the use of 3-D glasses and a headset with tracking along with other devices depending on the complexity of the experience.
Consider using VR presentations for simulations, product demonstrations and virtual tours of physical sites or digitally-modeled fictional worlds.
Mixed Reality (MR)Mixed Reality combines elements of VR and AR, creating a hybrid experience that allows the user to interact with both digital and physical objects in a shared space. It is perfect for presentations that involve collaboration, creativity or problem-solving.
An MR presentation could enable the audience to co-create a design, manipulate a 3-D model or solve a puzzle.
HologramsHolograms are three-dimensional images that appear to float in mid-air, creating an illusion of depth and realism. Holograms can impress, inspire and surprise the audience by leveraging the power of realistic visuals. They can create a more memorable experience, as 65% of the population are visual learners.
One holographic projector device with speakers is enough to create a complete 3-D experience at your target location. Consider using a hologram presentation to feature a celebrity speaker, a live performance, a product or special effects.
Getting StartedImmersive presentations are not easy to create, and your best bet as a business may be to go for specialized agencies that create immersive and interactive presentations. Alternatively, you can get started by doing the following:
• Research and select the correct tools and techniques as per your requirement and target audience, or hire experts in immersive presentations who help with it.
• Find an advanced SaaS presentation software that can support high interactivity and 3-D modeling with specialized features that suits your vision.
• Acquire specialized visual design, video editing and digital modeling tools that allow collaboration.
• Invest in high-quality video cameras based on the presentation medium you wish to use and the devices required for it.
• Create the scripts and slides and set up recording environments for your presentation.
Summing UpWe have discussed some of the top cutting-edge immersive technologies that can enhance presentations and make them more memorable and impactful. But don't hurry up!
Before diving into the world of immersive presentations, you must remember to consider your options carefully and give enough time to planning and design. You must also ensure that they align with the goals and needs of the presenter and the audience.
Now go ahead and unlock the immense potential of immersive presentations to engage and convince your audience.
