Another nasty duplication bug has hit Diablo 4, and because of bad actors abusing it, Diablo 4's player trading has once again been suspended. The exploit surfaced after the release of the Diablo 4's second season, the Season of Blood, and following the various addition of features and rebalances to the game. The team is currently working on a fix for the exploit, but has warned that those accounts found to be using the glitch could be punished in accordance with the game's End-User License Agreement.
Diablo 4 Community Manager Rich Bantegui (AKA filthierich) shared details of the trade suspension on the Diablo 4 forums. It was there that Blizzard promised a fix is in the works for the latest duplication exploit and that players caught using it will be actioned according to legal rules in its player TOS:
We've suspended player trading in Diablo IV until further notice due to a duplication exploit. We are working on a fix to amend this issue and will update you once we've reinstated the ability to trade. We will continue to monitor this activity to ensure a healthy playing experience for all.
Diablo 4 Community Manager Rich Bantegui shared that player trading has been suspended to fix a duplication exploit in the game, and those who use the exploit knowingly may be punished.Source: Blizzard EntertainmentThis is the second major time in as many seasons that Diablo 4 has experienced a notable trade suspension due to an exploit glitch. The first was during Season of the Malignant a couple months back. However, Season of Blood seems to have gotten its own version of the exploit.
Since Diablo is a live-service game now, duplicate exploits and bugs are especially disruptive of the player economy and Blizzard has responded to them with high-priority attention. Even so, it remains to be seen when this latest one will be fixed and player trading will be back on track. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

Senate Decries Duplication Of East-West Road Contracts
The Senate Ad-hoc Committee on fact-finding on East-West said it has uncovered duplication in the award of contracts of the project by the Federal Ministry of Works, the Niger Delta Development Commission, and various state governments in the region, including the local governments.
This is just as it said there were compromises on the road about engineering concepts and construction.
The chairman of the Committee, Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi, who represents Bauchi Central Senatorial District, stated this on Monday, in the Eket local government area of Akwa Ibom State when he led other committee members on a fact-finding mission on East-West.
"That is one thing we have found out on the ground of awards by the Federal Ministry of Works, NDDC, the various state governments of the Niger Delta region and even the local governments.
"We were also disturbed that while we have noticed dilapidation of the road, we saw from the initial concept engineering that they did not do the scientific needful of testing the soil, of getting the required attention on the road, and that has to do with some compromises. This is unacceptable as far as I am concerned, "Senator Ningi said.
The senator who assured that the committee would convene a public hearing on the East-West road in Abuja, said during the public hearing questions would be raised on those whose responsibility it was to ensure concrete engineering design and soil testing, adding that otherwise, the government will just be spending money for nothing.
Senator Ningi expressed disappointment that the East-West road had defied four administrations: President Obasanjo's administration, the late Alh Musa Yar'Adua, and Jonathan, who assured that the road would be completed during the tenure of the 10th National Assembly.
Earlier, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pst Umo Éno stressed the importance of the East-West road to the economic development of Nigeria and urged the committee to do the needful to ensure its completion.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Senate committee, Pst Éno who was represented by his deputy, Akan Ayakenyi said "The importance of the construction of East-West road cannot be overemphasized for it will boost the economy and bring development into the rural communities it passes through.
"In your remarks, you did mention that you will have to look into the finances; what was released; why was it not used, and so on. I am very certain that the current administration under President Tinubu will dig deep into the finances released for the construction of the East-West road.
"During the 9th Assembly, budgetary provisions were made for the East-West road construction, approved and released but who got the money and how was it used?
"As you are coming for this fact-finding assignment, I will encourage you to investigate the issue. If money was released and not used for the purpose, please let what is to be done be done.
"Section 4 of the East-West road which moves from Eket and terminates at Uya-Oro junction needs to be properly dualised and completed and not something that lasts for two to ten years and starts collapsing, we need a proper construction to be done.
"I want to appeal that you should not only look at Section 4, please also get into Section 5 of the East-West road which moves from Uya-oro to Cross River because if we had that alternative way, now that the Calabar-Itu road is bad, We would not have suffered this much.
In his remarks, the Controller of Works, Federal Ministry of Work, Mr Berida Onayesemi, expressed confidence that issues about the road would soon be ironed out.
Blizzard Disables Diablo 4 Trading Again, Threatens To Ban Anyone Who Uses Item Duplication Exploits
Blizzard has once again disabled Diablo 4 trading amid a new duplication exploit players were found to be using. In a post on the Blizzard forum, community manager filthierich said the developer is working on a fix for the issue.
"We've suspended player trading in Diablo 4 until further notice due to a duplication exploit," filthierich said. "We are working on a fix to amend this issue and will update you once we've reinstated the ability to trade. We will continue to monitor this activity to ensure a healthy playing experience for all."
Filthierich then issued a stark warning to those who are using item duplication exploits: "Any account that engages in gold and item duplication exploits will be actioned in accordance with our End User License Agreement. We thank you for reporting this exploit to us and your patience."
Diablo IV - Season of Blood SlideshowThis isn't the first time Blizzard has been forced to disable Diablo 4 trading. In August, just two months after the record-breaking action RPG came out, Blizzard suspended Diablo 4 player trading due to a gold and item duplication exploit, and threatened players who used it with a ban.
The August exploit involved one player initiating a trade with a second player, dropping the items or gold in the trade slot, then forcing the Diablo 4 client to close. From there, the player would log back into the game, with the items or gold reappearing in the player's inventory while also remaining in the other player's inventory.
While Diablo 4 technically supports trading (players can trade Common, Magic, and Gold items along with Gold, Gems and Elixirs), it does not include an in-game auction house (Blizzard famously removed Diablo 3's real-money auction house back in 2014 following a backlash). Instead, players have taken to using Discord to find buyers for their virtual goods.
But the economy underpinning this makeshift market was left in disarray after some players used the exploit to bid huge amounts of gold on up-for-sale items. In one trade that surfaced just before Blizzard's clampdown, a crossbow was sold for an eye-watering 30 billion gold. Why do Diablo 4 players want in-game gold? Typically it's to fuel perhaps Diablo 4's biggest 'gold sink', which revolves around the high cost of upgrading gear and rerolling item enchantments.
Diablo 4 launched on Steam last week and saw users dish out a "mixed" review rating of 55%. Diablo 4 launched on PC exclusively on its own Battle.Net platform back in June and saw record-breaking sales that secured Diablo 4's place as Blizzard's fastest-selling game of all time. Generally, reaction to the new Season of Blood and its many quality-of-life changes has been positive.
Of course, Blizzard is now owned by Microsoft, which finally sealed its $69 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard earlier this month. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has already discussed the possibility of reviving old, owned franchises, with fellow executive Sarah Bond recently namechecking Blizzard's real-time strategy series StarCraft. Activision Blizzard games won't hit Game Pass until 2024, however.
Now Season of Blood is live, make sure to check out guide to the new vampiric powers and how to unlock them. We've also developed a full walkthrough of the original campaign.
