Audiologist Sandra Stumpf Reams, AuD, will present “Untreated Hearing Loss: What Boomers Need to Know” at the next Healthy Living Series lecture on Tuesday, November 12, at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Cape Cod in East Sandwich. The free lecture will begin at 4 PM in the cafeteria. “While hearing loss is a common part of growing older, it is usually treatable,” Ms. Reams said. “Among Boomers [people born between 1946 and 1964], one in six has some degree of hearing loss that may be adversely affecting their lifestyle and ability to communicate, both at home and at work. Acknowledging and understanding hearing loss is an important first step.” Her presentation will include an overview hearing anatomy, hearing loss, and tinnitus. She’ll discuss how other medical conditions can impact hearing and review the latest in hearing aids and other devices. The subject area will also be pertinent for those younger or older. Individuals may register by calling Spaulding at 508-833-
