Gulfport, MS — January 27, 2020 — Southern Hearing Associates, Inc. announces the addition of Audiologist, Michelle Stone, to our Beltone Hearing Centers staff. Dr. Stone has already begun helping patients at the Beltone offices in both Gulfport and Biloxi/St. Martin, Mississippi with their hearing loss in Gulfport, MS. She is a second-generation Beltone Hearing Healthcare Practitioner who brings 30-plus years of experience with her to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Dr. Stone earned her master’s degree at the University of Alabama and her Doctor of Audiology from the University of Florida. She maintains a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). She has helped thousands of hearing-impaired patients in her decades of work with Beltone across the Southeastern U.S.

New Initiative

Beginning in February, Dr. Stone will launch a commitment to fit at least one deserving patient through the assistance of The Beltone Hearing Care Foundation. As Beltone celebrates its 80th year helping the world hear better, we’ve committed to give back to our individual communities by providing testing, fitting and after care at no-cost for a select number of our patients in need. “Being a Hearing Aid Specialist is an extremely rewarding profession. We are usually able to help the majority of the patient’s we see every day. It’s heartbreaking, both for us and our potential patients, when we are not able to give them the help they need. In these rare cases, the obstacle is usually a financial limitation. That is why we are excited about our collaboration with The Beltone Foundation,” said Ron Hancock, Beltone Hearing Aid Specialist and Vice President of Southern Hearing Associates, Inc. He went on to say, “Our being able to help a hearing-impaired individual better hear sound and understand speech has a huge impact on their life. From understanding the Sunday sermon to being able to communicate at work to having meaningful conversations with family - it’s a big deal.”

Product Availability

The Beltone Hearing Care Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable hearing care center in Gulfport, MS, donates hearing instruments to those in need of hearing help who may otherwise be unable to access it. Both individuals and organizations are eligible to receive assistance from the Foundation through direct nominations by Beltone staff or network members.
